Pure waste of $$$. The best things were mediocre. Food, drinks, and service were poor. They con you into getting Diamonds Club. Without it good luck trying to eat anywhere beside the Buffet. Empty restaurants will turn you away and tell you they are very busy if your butler does not make the reservation. Also, good luck trying to get a hold or even see your Butler. Àlso do not fall for the BS Special Breakfast. It is your typical, follow the script, timeshares sales crap! Nothing that was even average about this place.

If you want to get scammed or want to be constantly hounded for money this is the place for you. I stayed with my family as we booked 2 rooms on a single reservation. We paid the balance no problem upon check in. Upon check out we were informed before we could leave that we needed to pay an additional $800. This was deliberate extortion and the most obvious case of fraud I have ever experienced. They did not accept the evidence of our booking confirmation which showed the rate were were quoted by the resort and the payment we made when we checked in. Charges have been disputed but the principle that we were held hostage before attempting to leave just left a complete sour taste. Please avoid and Marriott should be ashamed they associate their Autography Collection with this resort, the resort is more on par with a Comfort Inn than any Marriott property. Positives: Water park, pools, number of sun loungers, lunch options such as bites or diamond club beach bar. Negatives: Food quality is spotty, some restaurants good but most are not good, buffet is one of the smallest and lacks variety of any all inclusive, restaurant staff looked miserable and inconvenienced when you ask them for anything. bell staff never showed up to assist with luggage on check out day, resort is tired and in desperate need of upgrades, lots of construction on all blocks, staff is very misleading and shady, we were told by a staff member they would book us breakfast at the neighboring buffet at RPC however this was just a ploy to get us to attend a timeshare presentation. Issues in the rooms on second to last day as the AC broke in one room, both rooms water drains smelled of raw sewage, AC unit was leaking in second room, all issues fixed but shows the crumbling infrastructure of the resort. Beach vendors are aggressive and invasive. Fraudulent charges to credit card at check out. We could look past a majority of the negatives but the experience at check out needs to be warned to everyone who unfortunately will be traveling to this 2 star resort. Will never use the Royalton brand again. Have had better experiences at Excellence, Finest, and Hard Rock.

I recently stayed at Royalton Splash Punta Cana as a Diamond Club guest and was extremely disappointed with the overall experience. Having traveled to many all-inclusive resorts, this property fell far below expectations. The problems started immediately at check-in. The process was disorganized and chaotic. Our wristbands, which also serve as room keys, did not work properly. To make matters worse, the resort had our two rooms switched in the system and despite multiple attempts to correct the issue, it was never properly fixed during our stay. We were only a party of four with two rooms, yet they still couldn’t get the reservation right. Another family traveling with us experienced similar reservation issues, suggesting this is not an isolated problem. For a resort that markets itself as an upscale experience, the food was disappointing. The buffet offered limited variety and most dishes were bland. Service was extremely slow throughout the resort. At times, the buffet didn’t even have enough serving utensils available, forcing guests to wait or search for staff. The room service menu was equally disappointing. The “grilled cheese” was laughable—simply two slices of bread with a cold piece of cheese in the middle, neither grilled nor toasted. One of the biggest frustrations was the lack of air conditioning. Several Diamond Club restaurants had no AC, including the daily buffet. Even the disco had no functioning air conditioning. Multiple employees informed us that the AC had reportedly been broken for months. Dining in the Dominican heat without air conditioning made meals uncomfortable and far less enjoyable than they should have been. Transportation around the resort was another issue. The property is very large, and with the high temperatures, guests often rely on trolleys to move between areas. Unfortunately, trolley service was extremely limited, especially over the weekend, resulting in long waits and excessive walking in the heat. The pool and beach service also left much to be desired. Towels frequently ran out, and when available, they were thin, worn, and low quality. The beach often had excessive piles of seaweed that appeared to be cleaned only occasionally, making certain areas unpleasant to use. The only bright spot during our stay was Edwin at the Diamond Club check-in. He seemed to be the only employee who truly understood the systems and knew how to resolve guest issues. Unfortunately, it appeared that many of the other staff members relied heavily on him for assistance and lacked the training or authority to solve problems independently. Overall, the service, food quality, maintenance issues, and lack of attention to guest experience were shocking for a resort that promotes itself as a premium destination. As someone from the United States who has visited many all-inclusive properties, I would honestly compare this experience to a Motel 6 attempting to operate as a resort. I cannot recommend this resort. There are many better options in Punta Cana that provide significantly better service, food, accommodations, and overall value.
