UNAHOTELS Forte dei Marmi

We loved our honeymoon stay at Una Hotel Forte Dei Marmi. The staff were friendly and kind, the pool was gorgeous and the food was really good- I would definitely recommend the restaurant the food was as good as any we had on the holiday. We had a lovely time and would stay there again. Thanks to the staff for making us so welcome.

Extremely scenic location around 35 kms from Pisa. View of mountains in front..some green, others snow capped. Beach about 1 to 1.5 km. Room was superbly done with lots of space to stack your belongings. Washroom spotless. There was a balcony with retractable awning outside the room which offered a great view and with couches for sunbathing. Breakfast spread was pretty substantial. Staff were very couteous and smiling. The only drawback was that the elevator did not go up to the 3rd floor where I had my room. So I had to haul my luggage 1 floor.

Due flight cancellation we were place in this hotel by Lay Over lounge at Pisa airport. We were advised that all meals including lunch dinner and breakfast the following morning would be provided at no charge to us. On arrival it was clear that the reception staff knew nothing about are booking, that was sorted after about 30 minutes but we were told that no lunch could be provided and due to our early departure the next day neither could breakfast. No choice of menu was offered at dinner & no provision if you were vegetarian or vegan. Our dinner comprised a small portion of pasta, a few new potatoes and a chicken leg, no dessert. As this was a 4 star hotel we felt like we were an inconvenience and were treated particularly by the reception staff like second class citizens. We would not stay here again through choice

Far from everything no music no bar at night to enjoy and listen someone sing or play music. There is literally nothing to do or see there. In a positive note the staff are nice and the hotel is very clean.

We could not get out of here fast enough. The location is far from everything if you do not have a car. We borrowed the bikes every time we wanted to get something to eat or leave the hotel. It was 15-25 minutes to find something to eat. The hotel food was terrible and made us sick. The sheets were scratchy and bed like cardboard. The walls shook and we could hear barking dogs, people walking above us and noisy people. You will need a noise machine if you stay here. Needless to say, we checked out early and forfeited a night stay that we already paid for. Money well spent! The absolute kicker is that the front desk person told us she could not find a taxi to get us to the train station because there are only a couple and they are hard to find. She offered no solution. We repeatedly asked for her assistance to find us a ride and she finally did. I felt like I was begging her to help us leave. Very memorable experience. We will never stay at an UNA property again.
