We recently returned from a one week stay at the end of the school holidays. Staff were pleasant and helpful and some (Edgar the porter and Sandra at Bongos) were exceptional and so kind to our 6 year old girl. Breakfast was OK and our little girl enjoyed a good range of kids nighttime activities (disco, magic show and circus). Beautiful coastline and coastal walk. We felt the kids club could have been more interesting and enticing, the staff were often hanging around looking a bit bored. We loved our trip into Sibenik to visit the World UNESCO heritage site. But the big downside was the extortionate prices - and because the resort is so vast, there is no escape from paying these prices unless you take a bus or taxi into town. Some of the charges: - 10 euros per sun lounger and 25 euros for a cabana per day for hotel guests on the hotel's own beach! - 39 euros for a family of 3 to do minigolf (we paid 6 euros in Spain recently) - 100 euros entrance for a family of 3 to the waterpark. - 15 euros each for the inflatable assault course on the beach. Even the drinks and food were very expensive (e.g 4 euros 50 for an apple juice, 4 euros 70 for a small beer). But what felt really misleading was the extortionate costs of the activities, given the activities were included in the pictures of the hotel (through Love Holidays) so we assumed that they were available to us as part of the hotel, at least at a discounted price. I've seen the previous message from management to 'chrissie' saying all these costs are on their website but if you book with a travel agency like Tui or Love Holidays, you don't see these costs, just photos of all these lovely activities as part of the resort - it's very misleading. I would recommend that advertising through third parties is undertaken in a more transparent way as unfortunately we felt cheated by these costs which limited our activities and took the enjoyment out of the holiday. Nice spot but not value for money.
Upon arrival at the hotel, three coachloads of school children were checking in simultaneously, resulting in an extremely chaotic atmosphere. Once checked in, these large groups occupied the pool and communal areas, substantially impacting the relaxing family holiday experience we had expected from a Luxe Collection property booked with Jet2 holidays. I raised my concerns with the hotel reception team and asked whether we could use the pool facilities at the neighbouring sister hotel. I was informed this was not possible and was advised simply to avoid peak times when the school groups were present. Whilst some groups departed after a few days, our relief was short-lived as we later received a letter advising that additional school groups would be arriving. Had we been made aware that the hotel regularly accommodated large school groups during our stay, we would not have chosen this property. The atmosphere felt far more akin to a holiday camp than the premium, family-friendly Luxe Collection experience advertised by Jet2. In addition, we found the information regarding hotel facilities and restaurant access to be unclear and, in some respects, misleading. We believed that the gym, spa and kids' club were facilities attached to Hotel Jakov, only to discover during our stay that they were located at neighbouring properties. We were also disappointed to find that, due to the low-season period covering part of our holiday, many onsite restaurants were either closed or operating reduced hours. Furthermore, neither the outdoor waterpark nor the inflatable aqua park was operating during our stay. We were lucky with the weather and the times when the school groups weren't around was lovely.
Absolutely brilliant place to stay if you want a nice and relaxing family holiday. Perfect location as it is on a resort site with plenty of activities to do as well as a little super market and food establishments scattered across the resort. Short walk to the beach and pool as well as the big waterpark which was fantastic. Great facilities and plenty of things To do. Highly recommend.
Excellent place for vacation for entire family. It has all for perfect vacation. I was in september this year but also previously and always was at highest level. Everything is briliant. It has new aquapark for children and inside that big spa for adults. I will recomend this to all my friends.
We stayed here at the end of August and it was fabulous! The hotel is lovely and the rooms are very clean, fresh and modern. Pillows and beds are so comfortable and shower amazing! The pool area was lovely. Always loads of available sun beds and towels available. The kids absolutely loved spending the day in the pool. Breakfast was amazing with something for everyone. Waffles with pistachio cream?? Count me in! The kids were very very happy with the options, as were the adults. Hotel staff all very friendly. The people on reception were all very helpful and knowledgeable. No complaints. The kids loved the games room! There are loungers on the beach that you have to pay for. We didn’t pay. We set up in the shade of the trees, which was absolutely fine. The water is crystal clear! Very beautiful. We played the mini golf 3 times and the kids loved it. Yes, it’s an additional cost and probably quite a lot but we enjoyed it. We ate out along the strip - Trattoria, Bongos, Tapas - the food was very very good. Same prices as back home so wasn’t really bothered. The price of the hotel is extremely reasonable so even adding food in top it was cheaper than most other places. We got a taxi into Šibenik, which is a lovely little town to visit and spend some time. The views from the top are breathtaking. Also got a taxi to Krka National Park! Reception recommended the entrance where you get a boat ride down to the waterfall included in the entry price. It’s slightly further and more in the taxi but 100% worth it. A must visit!!!! We caught the little train one day that runs up and down the strip. Not the cheapest but the kids loved it. We also went to the water park next door. Was a great way to spend the day and the kids had a great time. We only took part in a couple of the art activities for the kids. They also did the cocktail making and the pizza making. This was one of the highlights of their holiday! All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel for families. We had a lovely time and would definitely consider a return trip!
