ELEVATORS Firstly if you have zero patience the lifts will drive you completely insane. They are the slowest lifts I’ve ever come across, even waiting on the doors opening at your floor is a ridiculous amount of time. They are very very small and warm. Outside the lift it says 4 people, inside says 8 and 630kg max. The lift isn’t holding more than 6 average adults at a push. The staff also use the lift with trolleys - they really need a service elevator. A lot of rude people who think queues don’t exist and just barge on. Found this to be mainly French tourists. ROOM: Standard room with sea view. Had 3 beds, Twins pushed together for “double/king” and a single for daughter. They were comfortable enough. Not a lot of space but did the job. Was clean, tidy. The shower was crap. Little pressure and no good flow. Water poured through a gap in the shower screen so be very careful on tiles in bathroom if anyone showered before you go in. (Room 630) TOKEN SYSTEM There is a token system for drinks. On arrival you each get one token. When you get your drink from the one small bar, you hand over your token. You continue going to the bar with your cup for drinks, (fresh cup each time) until you are done then they give you the token back. Fruit juice, water, hot beverages available all day without token. DRINKS: Very basic. Local beer, wine and spirits, 7up, Pepsi, Fizzy Orange. A few cocktails. There is more choice if you pay. As above, hot beverages, fruit juice and water too. FOOD: Very repetitive. I’m a fussy eater, but have never lived on chips, bread and fruit till this holiday. Lots of fish dishes. Warm at best. Nothing really stood out as very good or that I’d recommend. Husband who will eat most stuff managed a plateful at ever meal but agrees it’s repetitive, limited and only warm. Very poor dessert choices and no kids buffet which I found super strange. SNACK BAR: I didn’t rate the snack bar. When it opens till about 1pm it’s leftovers from breakfast. Then it’s burgers, hot dogs, pizza, croissants, pain au chocolate, biscuits, fruit. The bread is hard, burger and hot dogs are very dry and I just didn’t rate this at all. My teenage daughter was not a fan either. POOL & SLIDES: The pool isn’t particularly big. It goes from really quite shallow to I think 7 feet deep. When you come off the slide it’s about 7 feet. The two slides are ok and honestly the very best way to get into the very cold pool! The slides are height restricted regardless of ability to swim or use arm bands. Minimum height 120cm. There are NO slides for small children. I don’t think they clean the pool area at night. Full ashtrays, old towels, inflatables lying for days. SUN BEDS: We were here 6/6-13/6 and there were zero sun bed wars. Plenty beds and all get the sun. They do have a shortage of sun parasols. They all looked pretty new. No sun bed cushions. PUBLIC TOILETS: There are 3 lots. One at the left of the stage outside if facing the stage. I never used these. One next to the restaurant and one next to the bar. Husband says mens were clean and the women’s are not bad. The cubicles in men’s and women’s though have about an inch gap on the doors that you can see in/out of very clearly. It’s very strange. ENTERTAINMENT: I have mixed feelings on this as they had things like darts, yoga, pool volleyball but there was no enthusiasm from the team for them. The evening entertainment was basic and the kids was a money spinner to sell souvenirs. Overall could be much much better. One entertainment member looked as though he loved his job and did try to encourage guests however the rest are they for the pay. CLEANLINESS: Overall cleanliness 8/10. Main areas very clean, rooms clean though a bit of attention to the small things would be good. Toilet roll holder, shower screen, glass. Toilets are ok. Safely clean. Pool area a bit disappointing. STAFF: Housekeepers were kind of stand off ish, reception staff were helpful and polite, bar staff was minimum but try to work through the queue as quickly and nicely as possible. For the men, if it’s a small dark haired girl wearing glasses serving put on a top as she picks and chooses who to tell to put one on when going for drinks. If you’re making a rule for one, it should be for all. BEACH: Absolutely stunning. Busy but not overcrowded. Water is clear, lovely sandy cove. Literally a 5 minute walk out the back gate. Turn left, down a small hill and it’s on the right. Can see it from hotel. VIEWS: The views from the hotel are beautiful. Lots of brilliant photo opportunities. Beach, sea, hills! GUESTS: A mixture of guests, Scottish, English, Irish, Spanish but a lot of French. Found the French to be extremely rude. Pushing onto lifts, in the queues at the restaurant, just quite rude with zero consideration for anyone else. (Not all but majority) TRANSFER: We used the EasyJet Transfer to go and took about 1 hour 10 minutes. Taxi back to Palma Airport 45 minutes at a cost of £75 or 86€. Overall we had a nice time in a budget friendly hotel. I wouldn’t return, but we made of it what we wanted as best we could. Please bear in mind everyone sees things differently. This is my personal opinion and review.

    Foarte bun

Just returned from a very pleasant 8 night stay at the Globales Samoa. Check-in was smooth, was allocated a high floor, asked for a lower floor and this sorted straight away. We were given 2 tokens which are exchanged for drinks cups which you use throughout stay, obviously clean ones given with each drink. Safe deposit box was rather pricey at 50 euros. Room was a good size with plenty of storage for 2 of us. Beds are so comfortable as well as lovely soft pillows. Good air-con. Good size bathroom with piping hot water every day. Shower gel provided. Towels were changed and beds made up 6 days out of the 8. There was good selection of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner, my OH wasn't impressed with dessert choice, mainly cakes etc. also lots of fruit. Salad bar was my favourite, fab choices. The white wine in the restaurant was good quality. Dinner goes on until 10pm which is really good as you could stay by pool much later until getting ready for the evening. I can't really comment on the evening entertainment as we went out every evening to local bars, one of the hotels good selling points is location, minutes walk from bars/restaurant/shops etc. Animation team did various activities throughout the day and most of the evening entertainment, according to info board there were only 3 professional acts all week. They rehearsed songs from "The Greatest Showman" most days around lunchtime but this show wasn't on the week we stayed there, shame as we may have stayed in for that. Pool area is a good size with masses of sunbeds so no getting up at the crack of dawn to secure one, unless you wanted a parasol and these were soon snatched up, I feel the hotel should provide more particularly in the real hot months of July & August. Snack bar is beside the pool, open from 10am to 6pm with usual burgers, chips, hotdogs, pizza as well as lots of fresh fruit. Found the majority of the staff friendly & helpful, shout out to Antonio the barman, always happy & smiley. There were others whose names I did not get. The majority of the guests are French which I knew from TA before I travelled, so if you want a hotel that's predominantly Brits, this one is not for you. On check out day, a courtesy room is bookable on the morning of departure, we had no trouble getting it. 2 showers available which speeds things up. I have no complaints about this hotel personally, I did hear guests moan about there being only 2 lifts and the lengthy wait for them, but we walked up and down so wasn't an issue for us but someone with mobility issues or elderly this could be. Cleaning staff use same lifts. I would recommend this hotel and would not hesitate in returning.
