Deven – a true gem of service at The Westin Turtle Bay! 🌟 We spent a wonderful week at The Westin Turtle Bay Resort & Spa, and now that we’re home, the first thing we want to write is a heartfelt thank-you to our waiter, Deven. Honestly, in all our travels, we’ve rarely encountered such genuine, thoughtful, and proactive service. Deven is a true professional with a big heart. From our very first breakfast, he remembered exactly how I take my coffee and that my wife has a mild lactose intolerance — without a single reminder, every morning our table would have oat milk and freshly squeezed ginger juice waiting for us. That kind of attention to detail is priceless. He didn’t just take orders — he sensed the mood of his guests. Noticing our hesitation with Mauritian dishes, Deven would enthusiastically share the story behind each recipe and suggest off-menu specialties, and every single recommendation turned into a culinary discovery. His tip to try the local vanilla-infused rum at sunset is now one of the warmest memories of our trip. We were especially impressed by his command of several languages and his wonderful sense of tact: he created a light, celebratory atmosphere around our table while remaining completely unobtrusive. He seemed to appear the very second you needed him and then melt away, letting you savour the moment. Thanks to Deven, the hotel’s restaurants became a place we longed to return to — not just for the exquisite cuisine (which is flawless, by the way), but for that magical human connection. The management of The Westin Turtle Bay Resort & Spa is incredibly fortunate to have such an employee — he embodies legendary Mauritian hospitality. Deven, if you’re reading this — a huge thank you from the Smirnov family! You made our holiday truly soul-warming. We will definitely be back and really hope to see your sunny smile again. We wholeheartedly recommend every guest at this hotel to get to know this outstanding waiter!

The stay was awesome all credit goes to Mr Kaushal. He was really cooperative and very helpful.

From arrival to departure this hotel exceeded our expectations, we arrived very early but after a couple of refreshing drinks were told our rooms were ready, we stayed in the Wellness Room which had a wonderful sea view, were spacious, spotless and very well equipped - they even came with a handy basket complete with beach/pool towels which were renewed each night! We also had a huge bath, bathrobes, slippers, plus an indoor and an outdoor shower and the most comfortable bed. The restaurants - where to start!! The teppanyake was amazing, the sushi delicious, the asian fusion wonderful and as for the buffet - you couldnt fault any of it, plenty of choice for everyone. The adults pool was lovely and cool with pool service for food and drinks (best coconut milkshake ever) and the staff were so friendly. We were lucky enough after a chance meeting with Ravi the head chef and Gary Kirchens (guest Michelin chef) one night in the restaurant to be invited to a cookery demonstration the following day in the vegetable garden, it was a hands on demonstration and i worked alongside Patrick Vitry (another chef) and created the most wonderful salad, we then got to sit down, enjoy the fruits of our labour and the wonderful view across the sea. The staff at this hotel are second to none, so friendly, always wanting to chat, give you a hug and made you feel like family not just 'another guest'. The beach whilst it wasn't the picture perfect one was still beautiful. Would we return - yes in a heartbeat.

What a wonderful place. The hotel, rooms, dining options and service were amazing. Myself and my wife visited Mauritius for the first time and we will definitely be back to the Westin. The whole team from the first faces you meet to the last that with sadness you must say goodbye were a real credit to the Hotel. We have never had such a warm and personable experience on holiday. Food and drink options great, plenty to choose from if all inclusive but options to pay a little more. Whilst the resort was full you never felt you were on top of other guests no matter where you were such was the breadth of the resort. Beautiful location and staff always had time for you. Would like to thank them all in person but a special mention must go to Kavi the manager, thank you for what you arranged for us on our last day, to Ainesh in the Retreat Bar, Noah at the Whisper Pool, Keshav in the Beach Grill, and finally Chris at Mystique.
