Remisens Hotel Albatros

Great hotel,with pool,different saunas,amazing restaurant. Picturesque location,everywhere you look was postcard perfect view. Short walk away was a little town to explore,boat rides available.Staff very welcoming,hotel nice and clean. We loved there and are planning to go back next year.

Firstly, I’m stumped at why this hotel receives such bad reviews. We have had an incredible stay at this hotel! We stayed end of May - start of June with 2 young children. Everything was brilliant from the start. The hotel staff were excellent (shout out to Petra who seamlessly checked us in and out, arranged us some great packed lunches for our early trip and also sorted us a late check out for no extra cost so we could enjoy our final half day) Our room was excellent - a stunning sea view in A block with a huge corner balcony, and separate bedroom with bunk beds for the children - something which I didn’t expect. The room was very clean and serviced every day. The shower was great. Incredible air con. The facilities are excellent- lovely pools. There was never any hogging of sunloungers - we never struggled for 4 beds any time of day. It’s also really quiet - no loud music booming around the pool which was very welcome to us. We could enjoy watching our children play and soaking up the calming atmosphere and stunning mountain view.. The spa and indoor pool is also first class. It looks brand new with fabulous jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and salt rooms. The area itself is simply beautiful, stunning views of the bay with a mountain backdrop - idyllic. And it’s a great base for exploring lots of places - Dubrovnik (20 mins by uber, 50 mins by water taxi - we did both) , Montenegro is easily reachable, as is Bosnia and Herzegovina- we did the Mostar / Kravice waterfalls trip and I would highly recommend it. Simply breathtaking. Cavtat itself is a truly amazing little piece of paradise. A beautiful harbour with some great restaurants. There’s an also play park in the centre which is fab for the kids to play after dinner. Also there is a beautiful peninsula walk that has several beach / rock bathing areas and rock pools to swim in - we all loved these areas. Tip - take swim shoes as there are a lot of sea urchins (which is a great sign as shows just how clean and unpolluted this place is). Two very minor negatives (which actually didn’t impact our holiday at all, but worth noting) We did choose this hotel as it was advertised as having children’s entertainment and mini disco - which there was neither. It could have been that the season hadn’t started yet but we were there first week in June which I would have expected it to have started by then. However the kids were not bothered at all, there is so much to do and so many places to go, they didn’t miss it one bit. Secondly, I do agree with the reviews about the food - it is very average. We booked all inclusive simply because it wasn’t much extra to do so - we only planned to use it for drinks and breakfast anyway, both of which were great. The lager is fab, served in proper glasses, not small plastic cups. The Croatian red wine was also nice. Breakfast was everything that you would expect and did us just fine. Lunch and dinner were repetitive and we did struggle a bit on the couple of nights we did eat there (but we are vegetarian so again, we do expect that) If you like meat and fish, the selection looked decent. All in all we had the holiday of a lifetime, a wonderful adventure. We don’t usually go back to the same place twice as we love to travel the world, but this is one place we definitely will return to. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

My wife and I have just returned from a 7-night bed and breakfast stay here. We have previously stayed at Hotel Cavtat but wanted somewhere with a bit more atmosphere this time, so decided to book this hotel. Our first impressions were very positive. The reception staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming on arrival and remained so throughout our stay. The room was a good size for the two of us, with a clean bathroom and a decent-sized balcony offering park and sea views. It was a lovely little sun trap in the afternoons. The beds were very comfortable, although it was worth noting that the “double bed” was actually two single beds pushed together. The shower wasn’t particularly powerful, but it was perfectly adequate for cooling off after a day spent by the sea. The pool area was excellent, with plenty of sunbeds available until around 11am. There were no early morning sunbed battles here, which was refreshing. The stony beach is just outside the hotel, and cushioned sunbeds were available for €9 each during our stay. We found them well worth the cost, especially as the sea was warmer than the pool on some days. The on-site shop was very convenient, stocking essentials such as toiletries, snacks, drinks and souvenirs. Breakfast was good, with plenty of choice including bacon, sausages, pancakes, waffles, fruit, cold meats, cheeses and more. One area that could be improved was the housekeeping. We left the cleaning card on our door every day, however, during our 7-night stay the room was only serviced twice. On both occasions this consisted of the bed being made and towels being replaced, but there were no top-ups of tea or toiletries. In fact, the body wash dispenser was empty when we arrived and was never refilled during our stay. While this wasn’t a major issue for us, it was disappointing and not quite what we would expect from the daily housekeeping service advertised as a 4 star hotel. The only downside, and one that is difficult to avoid in a family-friendly hotel, was the level of noise. I’m a light sleeper and came prepared with earplugs, but the sound of doors banging, people walking heavily in corridors and televisions from neighbouring rooms could be a little tiring at times. That said, this was the only real negative during our stay and it certainly wouldn’t stop us from returning in the future.

I recently stayed at Alberto’s in Cavtat and unfortunately left feeling disappointed. While the hotel was presented as a 4-star property, it did not meet the standards I would normally expect from that rating. The room appeared dusty and could have benefited from a more thorough clean. I also found the reception staff to be less helpful than expected, with little effort made to assist guests or create a welcoming experience. One of the biggest drawbacks was the lack of atmosphere throughout the hotel. It felt very business-oriented rather than a relaxing holiday destination. There was little sense of warmth, character, or holiday ambience, which impacted the overall experience. The location is good for exploring Cavtat, but overall I did not feel the hotel offered the level of service, comfort, or holiday experience expected from a 4-star hotel. Sadly, I would not choose to stay here again.

Having read previous reviews some are not so good and some good, i wasn't sure what to expect.. Firstly its only 12 mins taxi ride from the airport, i liked that. Secondly, the location and sights are beautiful, you can have a lovely walk into Cavtat ( 15- 20 mins) passing bars and bistros along the way. Take the water taxi into Dubrovnik, it picks up only 200yds from the hotel. I have no complaints about the cleanliness of our room and hotel overall. The staff i found were polite and helpful. At this time of year the days were hot and cool on an evening ( which i preferred), there were plenty of sun loungers and parasols and quiet I was all inclusive, had no issues with the drinks although id have thought Rose wine would have been included within it !. The food for me personally was ok, i know its not easy catering for everyone, i always found something to eat at any meal time, my only gripe was that it needs to be served warmer, i was first in one evening and for the veg to be tepid as with other food that needs addressing, it should be a simple fix. Lastly.. i would come back to this hotel again and at this time of year ( this last week).. i enjoyed it and it was just what i wanted for my 5 day stay.
